Creag Meggan

Venture to the beautiful highlands of Scotland and discover the sweeping countryside that surrounds Ballater and Creag Meggan bed and breakfast. The Queens Highland residence, Balmoral is open to the public, when the Queen is not in residence, and affords an intimate glimpse of royal life in the twenty first century.

Creag Meggan, fine dining You'll get a royally good Highland welcome at Creag Meggan three star bed and breakfast, situated at Bridge of Gairn, just outside of Ballater. This large detached stone residence is surrounded by rolling countryside and stunning three hundred and sixty degree views.

Creag Meggan is a lovely home, well appointed and beautifully cared for by its owners. All the rooms have en-suite facilities, TV's and a selection of hot beverages. Choose from either twin or double room options, with tasteful decorations, and lovely views.

Tariffs are: £55 per night for double and twin, and £45 per night for a single room.

Get set for a great day with a hearty Highland breakfast in the comfy lounge dining room, with the most tremendous double aspect views of the Deeside valley.

The annual Ballater Walking Festival is held in May, and has always proved to be extremely popular with hill walkers of all levels of fitness: Guides will take you through the eastern Cairngorms. Victoria Week, held in August each year, is a celebration of the life and times of the late Queen Victoria, who brought the royal household to Balmoral Castle.

It's the perfect occasion to discover both the highlands she loved so much, and British royal heritage. The Ballater Boules Challenge is very popular all through the winter, from November till March, and is played on alternate Sundays, instead of the traditional Scottish sport of curling when the weather is not cold enough.

There's plenty to see and do in Royal Deeside at Ballater, and Creag Meggan is the perfect place to stay to enjoy all of it.
